When we get into shooting video and television, you might want to use your own phone.
It helps a lot to have a smart phone holder and a tripod.
Bird Films is a reputable story–a little pricey–but they sent me the following information. You are not required to purchase these items but I did and they are super helpful.

Hi Shannon.
My apologies as I could only send the whole vidpro catalogue. The page we are interested in is page 15.
In the top left corner is item TA-SP, Adjustable tripod adapter for smartphones. They sell for $11.99.
Moving right to item TA-SF, the folding Smart Phone Tripod adapter with threaded socket sells for $18.99 each.
Here is a more rugged smartphone adapter. It sells for $29.95.

Attached is a sheet on the Optex 3 in 1 video monopod with stand that will work well with smartphones. It sells for $69.95.
Let us know if you have any questions.
Thanks.
